Now I just need $0.42 postage

Not two hours after telling blpurdom I still had a few days to decide, I made up my mind to go ahead and get it over with.

So...Obama-Biden '08, though I say it with less glee than many of you.

Joie

P.S. I can haz peace of mind now?

Thanks. If it's any consolation, I did stick with my Republican congressman. ;)

Well, you've reduced mine. --I'm sorry, I should have had more grace than to say that. I don't really regard most politicians as a source of peace of mind in the first place, either.

Congratulations on voting.

I think you misunderstood me. For me, the peace of mind will come (I hope) from having the difficult decision done (because I can't change it now), not from the results of the decision.

No, I kind of figured it was largely from having the decision over with.

*hugs* to you and I am a bit shocked because I thought you were going McCain/Palin but regardless I'm still glad you voted.

I was really excited when Palin was announced as McCain's running mate, and I still like Palin and hope to see more of her on the political stage. BUT there are some important issues I'm very concerned about that I don't feel McCain-Palin will do as good a job addressing as Obama-Biden will, so I went that way in the end.

So far, after 3 presidential elections for which I've been of age, I have yet to cast a vote for POTUS that I didn't eventually regret, so we'll see how this one goes. Goodness, that sounds pessimistic, but I don't mean it that way; I really am hopeful about Obama, just not to the giddy degree some of my friends are.

*nod nod* My dad is republican and he's always supported the party but he told me that he thinks Palin is great, just not for THIS particular election. A great woman came in at the wrong time he said.

Regardless I'm glad you voted and let's hope we're all able to reach across party lines to get stuff done in the next 4 years. :)

heh. Well, unfortunately you must not have looked too far into his policies on some other important issues... not that I love you any less for going with him...just a little regret that I didn't get to send my sway msg that I was writing today.
Did you know that in August Obama made the statement that he would not be opposed to partial birth abortions, but, even more harrowing, to full term birth abortions?
anyhoo, thought you may want to know

I'm well aware of Obama's abortion position. (I assume you're referring to the born-alive infants act that he opposed.) I don't like it at all. But I can't vote only based on abortion anymore. I'm very tired of the Republican party exploiting that to the point that many Christians won't pay as much attention and care as we ought to to other important issues.

well, I'm glad you didn't vote from a single issue, just wanted to make sure you understood the position (as you well do). Anyhoo, we will see about "change" whoever wins...

&hearts Good for you! (Voting in general, not voting for Obama. XD ALTHOUGH I DO SUPPORT THAT.)

I think none of us will know if we made the right decision until long, long after the votes have been tallied. You make your best judgment on the info available to you and hope your elected officials don't let you down.

Well, I'm happy about it. Good for you on voting, anyhow.

Did your polling station use regular old fashioned paper ballots, or did it have those blasted machines?

I did vote by mail this year, but in past elections they had paper ballots that were read by machines scan-tron-style at my polling location.

You voted, and that is what matters.

And yes, you can have peace of mind. You made what was a difficult decision, so take a deep breath and relax now. :D

I wish I could do that already. Most other states seem to be more enlightened than PA about the early voting. It's going to be a zoo here on Nov. 4.

Miss Joie,
Congrats on your choice.
I want apologize to you if I offended you in any way, shape or form about Sarah Palin. I was not trying to make you [or anyone eavesdropping] angry or hurt. I do not judge because of political prefrence. Again, I am sorry for any rude remaks against Palin.
