As for the last riddle, it seems several of you came up with some creative answers. I got a kick out of reading the comments this morning. :) Knight Bus/Flying Ford Anglia? Brilliant. Would that it were the answer. But alas, it is not. I hope none of you will be writing me any angry letters because I am hopelessly obvious and straightforward, and not nearly as subtle and trixy as your answers. Or because I have a dreadful OBHWF bias.
…Ron/Hermione. And
One day a knight asked heaven above,
Ron is, of course, the knight.
“Where, oh where, shall I find my true love?”
GoF Ch. 22: “We should get a move on, you know…ask someone. He’s right. We don’t want to end up with a pair of trolls.”
The reply: “In thy castle of ages past—
SS/PS Ch. 16: “…and Hermione, you go next to him instead of that castle.”
But you will miss her, unless you are fast!”
GoF Ch. 23: “Next time there’s a ball, ask me before someone else does, and not as a last resort!”
So, there you have it. As boring and predictable as OBHWF is. *shakes head*
And the Riddle Championship Cup goes (appropriately) to Slytherin, who beat out the other Houses with a grand total of 60 points. Professor Snape is very proud of his House, and of his star snake-ling
The final tallies for the other Houses are as follows:
Gryffindor (redwood, veela): 40
Ravenclaw (angua): 35
Hufflepuff (lilac, piper, Cedric): 25
And thank you to all the participants for responding, even those who did not manage to nab any points. I had fun, and I hope you did, too.
That brings this exercise to a close—until my muse visits again.
