Total # books I own
I've probably had several hundred over the years, but so many have been lost, given away, lent but never returned, etc. Another problem with counting the books I own is that my Mom, Dad, brother and I all freely share, lend, borrow, and steal each other's books so much that I'm not quite sure whose is whose. In my room here in Tallahassee I have with me about 70 books. I have maybe about another 50 at home in Lake Mary that I think I can rightly consider mine, not counting those that may be boxed up in the garage.
If you totaled all the books owned by myself and my immediate family members, you'd get an astronmical number, especially since my Dad has, like, the biggest Sci-Fi/Fantasy collection in the world. ;)

The Holy Bible
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
Harry Potter by JK Rowling
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
ETA: I would give a little comment about each of these, but with the possible exception of the last one, I think I've talked about why these are important to me before. Plus, I'm lazy. :D [/edit]
