I spent Friday and Saturday hanging out with old college friends--and their children (0_0)--and Sunday with church friends. It was a fun weekend.

Today I am happy because I have the new volume of Fruits Basket. And that is the reason this entry is short. *goes to read*

Gee Joie is the most popular person around her LJ, what a shock.

So now that you've see your friends with kids, the bug hasn't hit you yet has it?*Realizes this is a personal question and will understand if you decide not to answer, or thwap me with my own Troll Club*

Glad you had fun this weekend :D

Cheers

Heh. I would say that--as delightful as my friends' kids are--hanging out with them made me slightly less anxious to have my own. Still...I hope motherhood isn't too far off on my horizon.

I often have the same inclination around my friends and siblings offspring as well.

Still...I hope motherhood isn't too far off on my horizon.

Heh, I think motherhood for me would be quite awkward so I'll stick to fatherhood ;) yet I have no doubt you will be a wonderful mum :D

Cheers

Apparently items that are not as high profile as new Harry Potter books may get placed on shelves early. Christie told me that Waldenbooks had it out already, and I went and picked it up after work. I'm reading it right now. If I finish it in time, maybe Mark could get it for you tomorrow after work. His next Netflix DVD is supposed to come tomorrow, too. BTW, have you guys called customer service to follow up on the missing DN Angel CD? I think they could use a reminder.

ooooh... if you have new volume... does this include the first volume, or are you still hunting for that one?

I'm up for a trade any time! and speaking of, the second volume of Black Cat should be out any day now

... along with the now released Narnia!
mmm... two discs of widescreen, multiple commentary, WETA documentary, Director Journal, goodness................

ok, I go read for my classes, I've got a job interview tomorrow!

When I bought the new one, they had a buy 3 get one free deal, so I added to my collection, and volume one was one of the new ones I got. I already have volume two. So...yeah, I can hand off 1 and 2 to you, and get vol. 1 of Black Cat from you. When/how can we make the trade?

Well, either we plan a rendezvous or make use of the postal service.

I will be at the Mall at Mellinia tomorrow (Wednesday) for a job interview at 10am. If you are so flexible as to pass by there before or after that time, we could swap a book there.

otherwise, we can discuss options.

LOL. Did you forget that I'm a teacher? I'm at work during school hours. But I'm leery of mailing. Do you think we can figure out some kind of meeting? Where exactly are you living now?

Here's a thought. Would it be possible for you to swing up just a little further north after your interview? The school I work at is very close to the I-4 exit in Altamonte Springs. If you drop by my school, we could make the exchange then. It's probably about 25 minutes from the mall to my school, so you'd end up sacrificing about an hour of your time, if you didn't hang around long.

Alas, I am reading this reply from my computer back in Palm Bay (to answer your other question).

So, plans to meet, perhaps halfway somewhere, would have to be made for such a trade, and perhaps food or some other thing to make the trip more than a drive for a book.

I couldn't remember what your job was at the time... but, yes, teaching.. right... ofcourse... *smacks forehead*

A Good Between Point

Cocoa, Rockledge, Satellite

Or, perhaps something more like one of the malls, or Kissimmee?

the time it would take you to get down to the southern end of O-Town might be the time it takes us to ride 192 and a short jog on the turnpike. (about an hour and a half for us)

unless it takes you less time to drive along the bee line or something, out to meritt island and Cocoa or some such?

Re: A Good Between Point

The time it would take me to get out to Cocoa would probably be slightly more, but since I HATE driving on I-4 between Altamonte and Kissimmee, I think I'd still rather do that than a downtown location.

on interviews and jobs

well, I think the interview went well. They told me that they are on a 'hiring crunch' until the beginning of next month. They said to call them in about three weeks.

the one hitch, is that if I am only getting in at their base rate, $9/hr, that wouldn't be enough to afford housing and support a wife and baby. If I can get one of their more specialized postiions, it might be higher.

Of additional interest, as I was leaving the mall (yes, this was at the apple store) I found a voicemail upon turning my phone back on. It was a Christian Publishing house to which I had applied some weeks back. They wanted to conduct a phone interview with me.
It seems I'm finally getting a few bites here and there.
I'm sort of curious about a recent job opportunity over in Tampa which consists of basic web work and starts between 30-40K a year with benefits.... a nice start. I applied to this a few days back, so we'll see what comes of it. This is one where the job requrements are ones I can really handle without saying, "I haven't used the app, but I am more than happy to pick it up and run with it."

Re: on interviews and jobs

alas, i understand about the money situation. although i'm salaried, when you break it down, i don't even make $9 an hour AND they take federal AND state taxes out in Georgia. *sigh* i can't even afford to get my own place.

i told you man, it takes them forever to get back to you. it's real frustrating while you're waiting, and then you get like 4 calls in one week.

i know God will put you where you need to be. just be your best. :)
